Braskem is a young company, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary in the month of August. When reflecting on this short history for a business society, we are convinced that the balance between the challenges posed and the achievements reached was highly positive. Based on the integration of Brazilian petrochemical assets, we have taken important steps toward internationalization and are becoming more and more a global company - without losing our Brazilian heart.
 
Looking back, we have many reasons to celebrate. One of the examples was the launch of Green Plastic, the polyethylene derived from ethanol, which, by leveraging Brazil's competitive advantages in the production of biomass, showed our boldness to break certain paradigms of our industry. With this initiative, Brazil has become the largest global producer of biopolymers made from a renewable source, a recyclable material, with a positive impact on the carbon footprint.

This type of achievement has always been shared with our customers and shareholders, our internal teams and partners, society in general, and the communities where we are present, whether they are located in Brazil, the United States, Germany, or Mexico. Moreover, our solutions have served as motivation and inspiration for the new development cycles planned by us, to remain faithful to the commitment to create value for all audiences we relate to.

We know that our journey was not, however, without setbacks. Recent deviations have tarnished our reputation, but we have learned the lessons and strengthened our entire compliance framework, including the Board of Directors, through the adoption of strict compliance policies.

Our improvement in governance is also providing better support for a company that remains in a continual state of evolution. With an increasingly global structure, this evolution is reflected in strategic areas of the company, such as innovation and technology.

Faced with many challenges, we have multiple examples of our ability to overcome, our strength, and our resilience in difficult times, sustained by a clear vision of the future and always oriented toward people. That is the motion of our 8,000 members from 27 nationalities that compose the Braskem, whom I thank for their dedication and contribution. They are committed and motivated to find sustainable solutions in chemistry and plastics to improve people's well-being and quality of life for many generations to come.
