Irritec, a manufacturer of Italian origin, presents its new line of Multibar^TC tubes for use in tree and orchard crops, vineyards and orchards nurseries at the International Irrigation Fair 2018 in Campinas (SP), from September 19 to 21. The products are made with the I'm green^T Green Plastic, a sustainable innovation developed by Braskem, the first renewable polyethylene (PE) to be produced on an industrial scale in the world.

The line is releasing three unique features that make it ideal for installation in areas with steep slopes and for crops with frequent fertigation cycles: self-compensating device, which regulates the flow rate of application and ensures the uniformity of application along the line; antidrenant device, which allows all drippers to open and close simultaneously, ensuring a high accuracy in irrigation; and also the anti-siphon device, which prevents dirt from entering the dripper when the pipe is emptied.

"Because it is a pioneering project in agriculture, it is very relevant for Braskem's Renewable Chemicals area, as it marks the entry of Green Plastic into the irrigation segment," says Pedro Moldenhauer de Lima, Braskem's Commercial Manager.
 
The green resin, made from sugarcane, has the same physical characteristics as conventional PE. One of its main differentials is the capacity to capture 3.09 tons of CO₂ per ton produced, contributing to the reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. In addition, green polyethylene is 100% recyclable, that is, whatever is captured will remain fixed throughout the entire product life cycle.

Luiz Carlos Fernandes, Managing Director of Irritec, says that the company has chosen to adopt Green Plastic in the MultibarTC line because it is the product line with the highest added value, in addition to being the one with the longest shelf life and, thereby, the most indicated to be produced with sustainable material. "Irritec's mission is the continuous search for innovative materials and solutions that guarantee the creation of increasingly efficient products for agriculture, with the lowest environmental impact," says the executive.

The dripping tube made with Green Plastic still presents the differential of being a product in line with the worldwide tendency to seek ecologically sustainable solutions. "It is definitely interesting to have a product intended to be applied in the field and produced with material coming from the very field", states Fernandes.
