PICPlast, a Braskem and ABIPLAST initiative, brings the Plastic Transforms Movement to Feiplastic 2019

Created in 2016, the Plastic Transforms Movement carries out various initiatives to promote the importance of plastic in people's lives, such as the Plastic Transforms Station and PlastCoLab.

The Plastics Chain Incentive Plan (PICPlast) , which was created in 2013 by Braskem, the largest producer of thermoplastic resins in the Americas and the world's leading biopolymer producer, and by the Brazilian Plastics Industry Association (ABIPLAST) , will bring to Feiplastic 2019 , Latin America's largest plastics trade fair, the Plastic Transforms Movement , a pioneering initiative to present to society how plastic, combined with technology, innovation and responsibility, can transform the future. The initiative is located in the Inova Plastic space at the trade fair, which is being held through April 26 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo city.

Created in 2016, the Plastic Transforms Movement carries out various initiatives to promote the importance of plastic in people's lives, such as the Plastic Transforms Station , which offers an educational experience in plastic recycling for children from age 4 to 14 at the KidZania theme park in São Paulo, and PlastCoLab, an itinerant action that presents plastic as a versatile material essential for the creations of the maker movement. During Feiplastic, visitors can interact with some of the projects of the PlastCoLab, such as the robot that solves a Rubik's cube, 3D pens and the self-irrigation system for automated gardens.

Braskem's participation in the Plastic Transforms Movement is aligned with the company's commitment to support actions connected to the Circular Economy , which adopts a cyclical view of production and disposal.

According to Edison Terra, executive vice president of the South America & Europe Polyolefins Unit, partnerships are a fundamental part of this process. "Combining knowledge and efforts to promote plastic as a sustainable solution, the Plastic Transforms Movement is an important initiative for promoting interaction with our market and society in general. It is essential that we support educational actions and assume our role in raising awareness among the public. And the actions of the Plastic Transforms Movement have proven a very important channel for connecting with society," explained Terra.

Over 55,000 people have participated in the initiatives of the Movement, which also has reached around 70 million people in the media and on social networks, while its online platform with content on plastic has registered 179,000 accesses.
