Increasing the awareness of drivers of outsourced transportation fleets and Braskem partners is one of the program’s objectives and it uses several actions and initiatives to ensure improvements in the quality of life and safety of these workers.

All of the company’s Industrial Units and Distribution Centers are served by the program. Besides improving work conditions, the objective is to reduce accident rates, preserve the physical integrity of drivers and avoid losses from freight that is lost or delayed in delivery. The program has a structure for risk management in the transportation of chemical and hazardous products
Education is the foundation for these actions. Handouts and informative bulletins will help them learn the details of the program and establish concepts of defensive driving, among other measures.

In 2007, Braskem became a signatory of the Programa Na Mão Certa, an action by Childhood Brazil (WCF Institute) that aims at mobilizing society to combat child sex exploration on Brazilian highways in an effective manner.

The Pamcary risk management company and Ulbra, Unicapital, FAL and FIB universities are Braskem’s partners in this initiative. Pamcary is responsible for identifying potentially critical situations and situations of risk on roads and the university’s physical therapy students attend to the drivers. In order to encourage adoption of the program’s preventive measures, the transporters that make adjustments compete for a prize. In 2006, 4 transporters were awarded.

Another of the program’s important actions was the implementation of another CELOG (Logistics Center) inaugurated in December 2007 in Camaçari. The CELOGS offer the truck drivers technical and mechanical support, psychological and healthcare guidance, as well as travel plans with the indication of the safest routes suggested by the Pamcary risk management company.
