ABOUT BRASKEM

Braskem undertakes to guarantee the privacy of the User, individual and/or legal entity in the use of the PORTAL and in the use of the Services contained in the PORTAL, according to the following provisions.

Braskem will gather information from the User register at the record available in his/her/its PORTAL. In the record, Braskem will ask the name, e-mail address and other personal information of the User that, as made available, will enable a customization of his/her/its agreement with the PORTAL. After the registration, the User ceases to be anonymous for Braskem and can benefit from more resources available at the PORTAL.

In addition to the register, Braskem may request the supply of other personal information of the User in special situations, for example, as follows: a) when the User advertises at the PORTAL"s advertising section; b) sending of quotations for Auctions at the PORTAL; c) sending of suggestion or communication of a problem at the PORTAL. If the User contacts Braskem, he/she/it will be authorizing Braskem to keep a record of this letter. Occasionally, Braskem does surveys before the Users as internal research. There will be a link for the Privacy Policy reproduced herein in any area of the PORTAL where Braskem collects personal information.

The use of cookies to store and, sometimes, track information about the User is part of the customization of the offer and rendering of services of the PORTAL. A cookie is, in general, a small quantity of data sent from a Web server to a User browser and stored at the User"s computer hard disk unit. All the pages of the PORTAL where the User needs to do login or that can be customized require that the User accepts the cookies.

In general, cookies are used to:

(1) Identify the User for Braskem to access the information of he/she/it account (stored at Braskem"s computers) in order to provide the User with a more customized service. This cookie is activated by the time of registering in "Connect" and is modified when "Disconnecting" from the PORTAL.

(2) Dimension and qualify the PORTAL public. Each browser that accesses the PORTAL receives an exclusive cookie that is used to determine the extension of the repetitive use, use by a registered User versus use by a non-registered User and to help direct advertising based on User"s interests and behavior.

The customization of services intended by the PORTAL includes interactive communications, online purchases and many other types of services, the majority of which is free. Braskem, having certain information about the User, can supply advertisings and contents more suitable for the User"s interests and profile and, as a consequence, better services will be rendered. When the services offered are free, the respective offer expressly mentions this condition.

Braskem carries out internal researches of demography, interests and behavior of our Users based on the information supplied in the register or from the PORTAL server log files.

When the User"s personal information is requested at the PORTAL, such information is used solely and exclusively by Braskem, except for instruction to the contrary in the cookie. If the data are being collected and/or maintained by any company other than Braskem, Braskem undertakes to notify the User before the collection or transfer of data, in the cookie. If the User does not wish to share his/her/its data, he/she/it may choose not to allow the transfer, not using the specific, respective service.

The advertisers of banners at the PORTAL, the sites hosted at the PORTAL or any third parties using links at the PORTAL may insert cookies to collect information about the User. The sites in question are exclusively responsible for said practices and the personal data collected by the same shall observe the privacy policy peculiar to each one, and the PORTAL User shall exempt Braskem from any implication in respect to his/her/its consent in respect to the cookies used by these sites. In this sense, if, for example, the User purchases by means of the PORTAL"s advertising section, the information supplied by the User, such as number of credit card and contact information are sent by the User directly to advertisers without transiting by computers at Braskem"s service.

Braskem may compare User"s information to third parties" data and divulge statistics (for example, the percentage of public formed by companies of a market segment) to describe the potential for possible partners. Advertisers and any other.

Braskem may also divulge information about the User in special cases where the disclosure of said information is necessary to identify, contact or act legally against someone who may be violating (intentionally or not) the rights of Braskem or of damaged third parties, or opposing the etiquette norms in force in the Internet. Braskem may divulge information about the User when the law so demands, at Braskem"s sole discretion or at the discretion of the competent authorities.

If, when registering, the User indicates he/she/it is interested in receiving offers or information from Braskem and its partners, Braskem and its partners may occasionally send messages by e-mail about products and services that may interest the User. Said advertising and messages will be sent only if the User indicates he/she/it does not oppose these offers. If he/she/it does not want to receive this mail, he/she/it only needs to inform Braskem in writing.

The User also has options in respect to the acceptance of cookies. By modifying the preferences in his/her/its browser program, the User has the option of accepting all the cookies, being notified when a cookie is activated or refusing any and all cookies. If the User chooses to refuse all the cookies, he/she/it will not manage to use Braskem"s services that require register as a condition to participate.

Braskem does not sell or rent information about Users to anyone; it only provides access to the same, free of charge, to its effective or potential partners, which, this way, does not acquire any property on said data. Even in respect to data divulged free of charge to its partners, the User will always have had the option not to allow the transfer upon manifestation of acceptance or refusal of cookies. If the User does not want to share his/her/its data, he/she/it may choose not to use a certain service.

The User may edit his/her/its information at the PORTAL at any time by using his/her/its ID and password at the PORTAL.

If the User so wishes, his/her/its register at the PORTAL may be excluded or stopped, what will result in the impossibility of accessing any service of the PORTAL.

The information about registration at the PORTAL are protected by a password so that only the User has access to this personal information. Braskem recommends that the User does not divulge his/her/its password to anyone. Braskem will never ask the User"s password by non-requested e-mail or phone. The User shall also remember to disconnect from the PORTAL and close the window of his/her/its browsing program when he/she/it concludes a browsing session. This contributes to reduce the chances of other people having access to the User"s personal information and to his/her/its electronic mail, specially when the user shares a computer with someone or is using a computer at a public place.

No data transmission by means of Internet is 100% safe. As a consequence, although Braskem puts its best efforts to protect the User"s personal information, Braskem can not assure or guarantee the safety of any information transmitted to Braskem or supplied during browsing by the PORTAL, and the User will choose whether or not he/she/it will take this risk. Last, User is the sole responsible for the maintenance of the privacy of his/her/its passwords and/or of any information about his/her/its register, and he/she/it shall be careful and responsible whenever he/she/it is browsing on-line. On the other hand, the User shall be aware that he/she/it is the only responsible for qualifying his/her/its information as private or not, and so decide, on its account and risk, to give them during on-line navigation.

Also, the User shall be aware of the fact that the rights of privacy neither depend nor mingle with rights of intellectual property, rights of image, rights to honor and reputation and other rights of personality and that, therefore, the information he/she/it gives at the PORTAL will not always be protected by the same.

The PORTAL has limited access areas. The User agrees that the undue access to such areas will be considered, for all purposes, an invasion of privacy.

The conditions that rule the privacy of Braskem"s information at the PORTAL are regulated in the PORTAL Use Term and Braskem recommends that the Users consult it in case of doubt.

Braskem reserves the right to judge, at its sole discretion, except in case of decision by a proper authority, the pertinence of request of User"s information made by another User under pretext of existence of a common interest for this latter.

Braskem is not obliged to maintain, for any pre-established term, the information about the User appearing at the PORTAL.

The PORTAL does not mingle with Internet access provision and Braskem should not be required to supply information about the data flow of Users that access the PORTAL, except in case of determination by proper authorities, at Braskem"s discretion.

The User acknowledges that the invasion of privacy and/or intimacy is subject to application of civil and criminal sanctions.

The Privacy Policy is a part of the PORTAL Use Term for all purposes and effects and its eventual amendments shall be always available at the PORTAL, being valid from the date of its introduction. This Privacy Policy neither revokes nor substitutes other documents about privacy and confidentiality that may bind Braskem to the Users, with reference to partnerships or other relationships maintained with them.
