Private Social Investment
Part of the profits generated by the company is used to support initiatives of a social, environmental or cultural nature, in three defined areas:
} Social Inclusion: Promotion of initiatives which create employment and
income and help individuals and their families achieve the necessary
self-sufficiency to obtain better conditions in terms of food,
accommodation, education, health and leisure.
} Environmental Education: Help improve the quality of life and respect for
the environment, through education programs aimed at children, young
people and teachers.
} Cultural Promotion: Appreciation and promotion of culture and the arts
by supporting new and established writers and artists in the areas of
music, theater, literature and cinema.
Evaluation criteria for support from the PSI Programs
Braskem’s Private Social Investment Programs have the following levels of priority:
} meeting real needs specified by the community which is to benefit;
} respecting the participation and potential existing in these communities;
} capable of generating significant results for the public to which they
are aimed;
} may be repeated in other communities;
} do not create dependence and are likely to ensure their sustainability;
} are directed at Social Inclusion, Environmental Education and
Cultural promotion;
} create opportunities to collaborate with the company“s Volunteer Program.
