Braskem opens registrations for intern and trainee programs 2007

One of the three most important Brazilian capital industrial companies offers 60 vacancies for interns and 18 for trainees in São Paulo, Bahia, Alagoas and Rio Grande do Sul
Registrations are now open for the 2007 Braskem Intern and Trainee Program selection process for students and new grads who are looking for an opportunity for professional development in one of the most important companies in the country. 

To participate in the selection process, the candidate must access the Braskem Portal, and fill out the registration form by September 4. Last year, more than 24 thousand candidates participated in the selection process for the two programs.

Youths whose university studies are projected to conclude December 2007/December 2008 and who want to enter the job market can register for the Braskem Intern Program. Those who wish to register for the Trainee Program must have concluded or must conclude their university studies between December 2004 and January 2007. 

"The programs are a great opportunity for professionals who are entering the job market to grow in a world-class company, and they also permit Braskem to attract promising students or new grads from some of the best universities in the country," explains Ana Cristina Dias, responsible for People Development at Braskem.

There are a total of 18 vacancies for trainee and about 60 for interns, distributed throughout the company’s 14 units in the country, located in the cities of São Paulo (SP), Camaçari (BA), Maceió (AL), Triunfo(RS).

TRAINEE PROGRAM

Prerequisites:

     - University education concluded between December 2004 and January 2007 in the following courses: Business Administration, Public Relations, Economics, Accounting, Psychology, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Production, Materials, Mechatronics, Environmental and Sanitary)
     - English
     - Determination, initiative, good team worker and entrepreneuring capacity

The selection process includes on-line tests in English and logical thinking. Group dynamic experiences, business panels and individual interviews are also applied in the selection process. 

During the twelve month program, the new grads participate in functional training and competence development modules and they also develop theoretical and practical activities in the different areas of company operations. One of the differentials in the Braskem program is that each trainee elaborates a Challenge Project during the year where he/she has the opportunity to give his/her contribution to the company by carrying out a project geared towards the organizations needs.

The 18 vacancies are directed towards the following courses, according to the locations listed below: 

Camaçari (BA): Business Administration, Economics, Psychology, Chemistry or Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Environmental/Sanitary, Mechatronic, Mechanical or Production).
São Paulo (SP): Business Administration, Accounting, Public Relations, Economics or Engineering (Materials, Chemical or Production).
Triunfo (RS): Business Administration, Economics, Engineering (Chemical, Production, Materials).
Maceió (AL): Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

INTERN PROGRAM

The Braskem intern program lasts one to two years and it provides an important educational complement through the structured professional development plan the company offers that permits the intern to integrate academic activities with the learning achieved in the company’s everyday activities.

The program also contributes to the improvement of technical and behavioral competencies obtained through training, interaction with work teams and constant orientation by the intern leader. 

Participation in projects in the intern’s specific area of operation and the elaboration of a presentation at the end of the internship are part of the Braskem program. The interns performance is directly accompanied by the leader with support from the Human Resource team through evaluations and periodic meetings that are also part of the young professionals structured development plan.

To participate in the Braskem Intern Program the interested parties must conclude their university studies between December 2007 and December 2008. The selection process includes English and logical thinking tests, group dynamics and individual interviews. 

The company offers the intern a health plan, meal vouchers - or meals at company cafeterias for those professionals who work in the industrial units, and transportation.

The 60 vacancies are directed towards the following courses, according to the locations listed below:

Camaçari (BA): Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Psychology, Chemistry or Engineering (Chemical, Materials, Electrical, Mechanical or Production).
São Paulo (SP): Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Engineering (Materials, Chemical or Production).
Triunfo (RS): Business Administration or Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Plastic, Electronic, Production or Materials).
Maceió (AL): Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
