Every year, Isto É Dinheiro magazine awards the 500 best Brazilian companies, divided into sectors. The Chemical and Petrochemical award this year was given to Braskem, which was exalted, among other points, for its culture of permanent innovation, which the company holds as one of its strategic pillars for development.

Braskem was ranked 14th in the general classification, and among the top three in the segment for national, private capital, industrial companies. The participating companies’ data were analyzed by the Trevisan e Associados consulting company, which took into consideration several items, such as, income variation, equity, exports and investments.

In an interview for the 2006 edition of the "Best of Dinheiro", Braskem president, José Carlos Grubisich, explained that the company’s focus is directed towards the future. "Today, what we discuss here is innovation and technology."

Besides underscoring Braskem’s constant search for what is most modern in technological terms, which expands resin applications and permits plastic to increasingly replace traditional materials, the publication also emphasized the company’s equity structure and its investments in internationalization and social responsibility.
