On Tuesday, 11/27, in São Paulo, Braskem received the title o "Model Company in Sustainability" award for its economic-financial, environmental and social performance, according to the 2007 Guia Exame.

Now in its 8th edition, the guide, which until last year was called the Guia de Boa Governança Corporativa (Good Corporate Governance Guide), adopted a new research and analysis methodology in partnership with the Getúlio Vargas Foundation’s Center for Sustainability Studies (GVces). This year the study began to consider the most up-to-date references in business sustainability surveys in the world.

"Sustainability is directly tied to the company’s profitability and competitiveness. These are not isolated projects, but rather something intrinsic to our business strategy," says José Carlos Grubisich, Braskem president.

The Sustainability Guide has been circulating throughout the country since 11/29.
