Braskem was responsible for two of the best Deals of the Year in 2008, in the assessment of Latin Finance magazine, a renowned, international publication specialized in financial markets. The recognition refers to the two operations the company made throughout the year - Eurobonds and funding for pre-payment of exports.

The Deals of the Year - Best Corporate Bond Award was given to Braskem as a result of the issuance of US$ 500 million in Eurobonds in May. With this funding, Braskem amortized a significant portion of the bridge loan taken out to acquire the petrochemical assets of the Ipiranga Group in 2007, which was US$ 1.2 billion.

The Deals of the Year - Best Syndicated Loan Award was granted to the company for capturing US$ 725 million for pre-payment of exports in October. This operation concluded the extension of the same bridge loan. Conclusion of this loan amidst so much international economic uncertainty demonstrated the positive evaluation of the financial market with regard to the acquisition and confirmed its trust in Braskem's capacity to generate cash.
