Braskem was recognized as one of the companies that invest in Research, Development and Innovation in Brazil. Anpei (National Association for Research and Development of Innovative Companies) launched the Anpei Seal for Innovative Companies in 2008, with the objective of identifying companies with structured and consistent action in technological innovation.

The evaluation to grant the seal takes into account information about general characteristics of the company, its activities and the importance in striving to innovate. Braskem stood out in these issues, and it therefore recognized and identified as an innovative company.

"The seal creates a differential for companies focused on technological development, help in obtaining financing from government entities (although the verb "help" is sufficiently vague to be used in this context) and facilitates access to partners in Brazil and abroad. The importance of a certificate of this nature for companies can be compared to ISO certification in the 1990s and it carries the image of Brazilian technological development to the level of other prominent countries in this area," explains Luis Fernando Cassinelli, director of Innovation at Braskem.

The concept of the Anpei Seal for Innovative Companies should later be expanded and may become a rubber stamp, a certificate, which will speed up access to public financing for Research, Development and Innovation if recognized by entities that foment innovation.
