Agreement providing for investments of over R$4 million in the Alagoas chemicals and plastics production chain is signed
A Results Agreement was signed last Friday at Braskem, which makes the partnership and commitment of the State Government, through Sedec, with Sebrae, Fiea, Senai, Braskem, Ufal, Sindiplast, Assedi and Adedi official, for the execution of several actions, which range from the corporate guidance, qualification and consulting to the construction and structuring of the Núcleo de Tecnologia do Plástico do Estado de Alagoas (Plastic Technology Center of the State of Alagoas).
The agreement was signed by the SEBRAE’s national Chairman, Paulo Okamotto, Braskem’s Industrial Director, Marcelo Cerqueira, the Federação das Indústrias do Estado de Alagoas’ (Industry Federation of the State of Alagoas) Deputy Chairman, José Nogueira Filho, SEBRAE Alagoas’ Superintendent, Marcos Vieira, the Secretary of Economic Development, Energy and Logistics, Luis Otávio Gomes and SENAI Alagoas’ Regional Director, Marben Loureiro.
The project provides for an investment of about R$4 million until 2012. Out of this amount, R$1.5 million will be allocated by the Federação das Indústrias do Estado de Alagoas (Fiea) in the construction and structuring of the Núcleo de Tecnologia do Plástico do Estado; R$1.5 million will be allocated by national Sebrae and Sebrae Alagoas; R$716,000 by the State Government; R$139,000 will be allocated by Braskem and R$ 93,000 by the Syndicate of the Plastics Industry of Alagoas and partner companies.
For Braskem’s Industrial Director, Marcelo Cerqueira, the company works for so that its business in projects may contribute to the sustainable development and the production chain in which it is located. "Braskem has been an active partner in the strengthening of the plastics chain and is committed to increase the quality of professionals form Alagoas."
According to Sedec and Sebrae technicians, the strategic focus of the Projeto Estruturante da Cadeia Produtiva de Química e Plástico de Alagoas (Structuring Project of the Productive Chemicals and Plastic Production Chain of Alagoas) is based upon six pillars, among them, technological development and innovation of industries; improvements in competitiveness; articulation and encouragement to public policies, such as the access to tax credit and incentives; market consolidation and increase; quality, safety, environment, occupational health, and social and corporate responsibility management; qualification, labor force management and technical development in companies of the chemicals and plastics chain company.
According to the project, the great return for small companies of the segment, the State Government, Sebrae, Braskem, Fiea and other partners is based upon the improvement in the Human Development Index (HDI) in the area of scope, promoting the inclusion of local labor force in the market work and the prospection and installation of new companies in the segment.
For Sebrae’s national Chairman, Paulo Okamotto, Alagoas needs to progress in most economic and social indicators. For that, according to him, a large political and institutional effort is needed to program projects that may promote the State’s social and economic development. "The union of entrepreneurs, public power and the entire organized civil society may revert the undesirable HDI numbers of Alagoas", concludes Okamotto.
The meeting also counted on the attendance of the Banco do Nordeste’s CEO, José Expedito Neiva; Algás’s CEO, Gerson Fonseca, Sebrae Alagoas’ Directors Renata Fonseca and José Roberval Cabral; the Environment Institute chairman, Adriano Augusto de Araújo Jorge; Adedi’s CEO, Gilvan Leite; besides the Federal Institute of Alagoas Directors, representatives of the Departments of the State, Finance and Labor, Employment and Income, among others.
