REACH

REACH

Braskem follows the guidelines of the European REACH (the acronym for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) regulations that require the identification of the composition, application and use of all substances exported to that continent. Braskem's compliance with REACH demonstrates the company's commitment and attention to the market and the public. The purpose of this standard is to establish a high level of safety for human health and the environment through the registration, evaluation and authorization of all chemicals sold in the European Union. The criteria for registration of products is the amount sold and the risk they present to health and the environment.

In force since 2007, this regulation system was approved by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. The implementation and management of REACH is the responsibility of the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency), which is based on the premise of ensuring that records for substances are kept up-to-date regarding changes in composition, identifying new uses and applications, and any change in regard to the production and marketing of registered products.
