Braskem, market leader and pioneer in industrial scale production of biopolymers, recognized 24 companies from around the world for their good ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) practices, in the second edition of the "Braskem Supplier Sustainability Recognition" award. The award ceremony was broadcast online to all participating countries. 

The purpose of the initiative is to encourage organizations that do business with Braskem to adopt better ESG practices. Suppliers were assessed in five categories covering better social-environmental performance, human and labor rights, environment, ethics and sustainable procurement. 
Recognition was based on the assessments performed by the organizations EcoVadis, a global sustainability assessment platform, and CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), a non-profit organization that evaluates and analyzes entities in terms of their impact on issues related to climate and water. Both have efficient assessment criteria for the private sector and are known for their credibility.
"We consider this award as a means of encouraging companies that operate in our supply chain to also be aligned with good ESG practices. We want to boost collective action in our industry in favor of ethical and responsible actions", says Alberto Bustani, Global Planning and Procurement Manager.

The online event had an audience of more than 5,000 Braskem suppliers worldwide. In total, more than 200 companies participated in the award ceremony, with 24 winners.
