Braskem develops new resin for application in technical parts
The advantages of the new resin include the high rigidity to withstand stacking and good impact resistance at low temperature.

In an attempt to perfect its product portfolio and anticipate market demands, Braskem, the largest producer of thermoplastic resins in the Americas, launches CG 210N resin, a heterophasic copolymer with excellent balance of properties, used to promote better performance in rapid injection cycles. The innovation can be used in the agricultural market, automotive sector, home appliances and toys - parts that require greater rigidity.
The advantages of the new resin include the high rigidity to withstand stacking and good impact resistance at low temperature - ideal for application of thin-walled technical parts. Furthermore, the resin provides gains in the production cycle, ensuring higher productivity while preserving the properties of the part and respecting its design. "The new resin enters an application market in which Braskem had not been active and, for the development of this material, a joint action of the commercial, application engineering, product and industrial areas was carried out," said Daniel Horácio, from the Polypropylene Product Development area.
The resin, which was originally developed for agribusiness, more precisely agricultural boxes, aims to increase the integrity of products, with high-quality, cost-competitive solutions. "The material, makes it possible to ensure greater reliability in the logistics process, as well as material handling and storage, compared to similar products such as cardboard boxes. These attributes are important differentiators for all businesses, particularly when logistics is long, as is the case with the export process," added Paulo Mattos, from the International Business area.
