Through a partnership with Made In Space, a US-based NASA supplier, I'm green™ bio-based plastic is used to produce 3D printing objects at the International Space Station (ISS). The project enables the first manufacturing process ouside Earth.
The 3D printing filament is made of UTEC® resin, which offers superior tack, as well as resistance to abrasion and impact.

The program promotes consumer engagement and education to show how to add value to plastic waste through recycling.
Braskem Idesa partners with ANIQ to spread the knowledge about the value of post-consumer plastic by enabling the exchange of plastic waste for supermarket vouchers.

BIO-BASED EVA
New resin is produced from sugarcane, with applications in footwear, automotive and transportation sectors, among others.
PROGRAM OF REVERSE
LOGISTICS OF PP CUPS
In a partnership with Dinâmica Ambiental, the program guides and encourages companies to properly dispose of used plastic cups in Brazil, collaborating across the value chain to promote reuse and recycling of plastic.
The cups are collected, recycled and transformed into new products, such as caps for cosmetics packaging and household utensils.
Other companies can also join the program, as Copobras, Altacoppo and Jaguar have.

Braskem and the Philadelphia Eagles partner to collect and recycle plastic bottle caps and other plastic materials used at Lincoln Financial Field and at the team's training center in Pennsylvania (USA) over the next 8 years. The partnership also includes an educational project aimed at regional public schools to promote career opportunities.

BRASKEM RECYCLER
Through the partnership with Made In Space, Braskem develops a recycling unit to be stationed aboard the ISS. Produced from plastic waste generated by astronauts, the filaments for 3D printing will be used to produce new objects in space.

RENEWABLE MEG
Braskem sets up a demonstration plant in Copenhagen to produce bio MEG which is one the main ingredients of PET. During the next 2 years Braskem will try to demonstrate the technology with industry partners before scaling up to an industrial production unit.

Braskem joins hands with Join The Pipe, a Dutch water company, to distribute sustainable and reusable water bottles made from I’m green™ bio-based plastic, in the United States and countries in Africa and Europe.
