Launch of the first post-consumer recycled resins.

Through a partnership with Made In Space, a US-based NASA supplier, I'm green™ bio-based plastic is used to produce 3D printing objects at the International Space Station (ISS). The project enables the first manufacturing process ouside Earth.

The 3D printing filament is made of UTEC® resin, which offers superior tack, as well as resistance to abrasion and impact.

PROGRAM OF REVERSE
LOGISTICS OF PP CUPS

In a partnership with Dinâmica Ambiental, the program guides and encourages companies to properly dispose of used plastic cups in Brazil, collaborating across the value chain to promote reuse and recycling of plastic.

The cups are collected, recycled and transformed into new products, such as caps for cosmetics packaging and household utensils.

Other companies can also join the program, as Copobras, Altacoppo and Jaguar have.

Braskem sets up a demonstration plant in Copenhagen to produce bio MEG which is one the main ingredients of PET. During the next 2 years Braskem will try to demonstrate the technology with industry partners before scaling up to an industrial production unit.
