Braskem highlighted in study on determining priority topics in the area of sustainability
Braskem, the leading thermoplastic resins producer in the Americas and the world's largest biopolymer producer, is one of the companies highlighted in the study entitled "Materialidade no Brasil - como as empresas identificam os temas relevantes" [Materiality in Brazil - how companies identify relevant topics] that was prepared by the sustainability consulting firm Report Sustentabilidade. The report analyzed the information published in the annual or sustainability reports of 195 with operations in Brazil that were listed in the database of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
The study led to the creation of a list of 17 organizations, with Braskem among them, that presented the best materiality processes, based on the following criteria: conducting of consultations with stakeholders; efforts to involve the highest number of stakeholders; capacity to prioritize topics; and commitment to improving performance - publication of targets for material topics.
