Braskem Donates $30,000 to Kenova Volunteer Fire Department
Kenova, West Virginia - February 21, 2017 - In a ceremony with the Kenova Volunteer Fire Department, Braskem announced today a $30,000 donation that will go toward the acquisition of a new fire rescue pumper vehicle.
In his remarks today during the check presentation to Chief Tim Bias, Jeff Blatt, Plant Manager at Braskem's Neal facility stated, "On behalf of the 110 Braskem team members at the Neal plant in Kenova, and the over 700 Braskem team members across the United States, we just want to say thank you to the Kenova Fire Department and all the volunteer fire fighters who keep us safe every day. Our donation towards the new emergency response vehicle is emblematic of our longstanding and valued relationship with the local fire department and reflects Braskem's long-term commitment to the Kenova community."
Braskem's donation, along with those from other local companies, coupled with grants and state and federal assistance will help finance the Kenova Volunteer Fire Department's modernization of the fleet efforts.
