Braskem posts recurring EBITDA of R$818 million in 3Q25, up 91% compared to 2Q25

The quarter's performance improved compared to the previous quarter, although it remains under pressure from the prolonged downturn in the sector.

Braskem, a global petrochemical company that develops sustainable chemical and plastic solutions to improve people's lives , reported a recurring EBITDA of R$818 million in the third quarter of 2025, representing a 91% increase compared to 2Q25. This performance reflects the prioritization of higher value-added sales and the implementation of the company's resilience initiatives .

"Braskem remains committed to executing the initiatives outlined in its Global Resilience and Transformation Program , focusing on overcoming the structural challenges of the global petrochemical industry and the national chemical sector. In this regard , we have adopted decisive measures aimed at sustainable value generation , emphasizing EBITDA maximization and greater cash generation in the short and long term ," said Roberto Ramos, the company's CEO.

The third quarter of 2025 continued to be pressured by global economic volatility and the prolonged downturn in the petrochemical industry , resulting in lower product demand . This scenario directly impacted international price benchmarks, with reductions compared to 2Q25 of 4%, 14%, and 13% in PE, PP, and PVC spreads used as references in the Brazil /South America segment , and 4% in PP spread used as a reference in the United States and Europe segment .

In Brazil and South America , the average utilization rate of petrochemical complexes was 65%, lower than the previous quarter due to a scheduled shutdown in Rio de Janeiro. Domestic resin sales fell 5%, impacted by higher PE import volumes in July and August and lower PP demand. Meanwhile, chemical sales grew 11% in the domestic market and 10% in exports. In this context, Brazil's EBITDA reached R$1,115 million, a 29% increase compared to the previous quarter , mainly explained by prioritizing higher value-added sales , the strategy to supply the Brazilian market , and the implementation of resilience initiatives .

In the United States and Europe , the utilization rate rose to 79%, benefiting from inventory replenishment in the U.S. Recurring EBITDA was negative at R$79 million , due to lower demand in these regions . In Mexico , the first full maintenance shutdown of the petrochemical complex , completed in July, still impacted utilization rates and margins for the quarter , resulting in a recurring EBITDA of negative R$204 million .

Another highlight of 3Q25 was the company's operational cash generation , which was negative at R$334 million , mainly influenced by higher CAPEX expenses and increased supplier payments , partially offset by the strategy to optimize inventory levels during the quarter . Corporate gross debt closed the period at approximately R$44.8 billion , with an average maturity of nine years and 69% of maturities from 2030 onward .

"Braskem remains committed to financial discipline and the execution of its Resilience and Transformation Program . It is important to highlight that the Brazilian chemical industry recorded an idle capacity level of 39% - the highest in the last 30 years , according to the Brazilian Chemical Industry Association (ABIQUIM). In light of this , it is essential to emphasize the importance of a regulatory agenda for the Brazilian Chemical Industry , with initiatives such as PL 892/25 and definitive antidumping measures , to strengthen the industry's competitiveness fairly ," Ramos added .

For socio-urban measures, 11 urban mobility projects have been defined, with six completed, three in progress, and two in the planning phase.
