Braskem promotes an exhibition at MADE having plastic as the protagonist of designers' creation
With a scenography designed to provoke different understandings about the material, traditionally recognized as a product manufactured on a large scale by the industry, the show presents plastic in several contexts.

In order to show the plurality of the plastic application and present it as a solution to the design, contributing to the debate about the importance of the conscious use of the material, Braskem promotes the exhibition "Design MADE by plastic", which integrates the 6th edition of MADE (Market, Art, Design), held between June 27 and July 1, at the Biennial Pavilion, in São Paulo.
With a scenography designed to provoke different understandings about the material, traditionally recognized as a product manufactured on a large scale by the industry, the show presents plastic in several contexts, attributing to it new values through artistic creations, authorship, and applicable solutions in different sectors, such as fashion, health, mobility and furniture.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see, for instance, unusual applications of the input in creations by Gloria Coelho and in jewelry design, with pieces printed in 3D by designer Beatriz Barbosa. Furniture design renowned names such as Philippe Starck and the Campana brothers will also have their items displayed next to the recycled plastic bicycle frame designed by Juan Muzzi and the first adaptive plastic leg prosthesis cover in the world, developed by industrial designers Rodrigo Brenner and Mauricio Noronha, from Furf Design Studio.
The designers will also be at the Braskem stand to share knowledge with the audience, detailing their creative processes and how they use plastic in their work. The talks always start at 3:30 p.m. On the 28th, Juan Muzzi will present the urban bicycle project made with recycled plastic, named Muzzicycles; and, on the 29th, the Gloria Coelho studio will talk about the use of fashionable material; on the 30th, Rodrigo Brenner and Mauricio Noronha will tell you how to create dentures.
"The union of plastic with design has the potential of being an engine for transforming people's lives through projects developed in assorted areas, as shown by the design of the adaptive leg prosthesis layer, for example. The use of it as raw material, in this case, makes the product more affordable financially and allows it to be produced on a large scale," explains Ana Laura Sivieri, marketing manager of Braskem, MADE's sponsor.
The executive also said that during the six-day event, the company will be responsible for the selective collection of material discarded by visitors at the fair. "We recognize our responsibility, as an industry, to build a more sustainable, innovative and intelligent future. We have developed a series of projects that encourage the conscious use of plastic and recycling, and this will also be applied in MADE," he says.
With the proposal of taking the industry into an art-oriented event, the 6th edition of MADE brings together more than 100 national and international exhibitors, as well as having a schedule that includes lectures, film sessions and book launches. It is curated by Waldick Jatobá and Bruno Simões, who were inspired by the "Machine Art After Philip Johnson" theme, the exhibition name performed by the designer at the MoMa (NY), in 1934.
