Embalixo launches new packaging for diaper disposal
The new product uses Green Plastic, a material that is 100% recyclable and produced from sugarcane by Braskem.

Embalixo, the nationwide leader in the production of waste bags, has just launched packaging made of plastic of renewable origin, intended for the disposal of diapers. The Embalixo Baby model has an internal odor remover, lavender fragrance, and flaps for easy closing. Initially, the product will be made available in drugstores in the state of São Paulo and, in the second semester, in the main supermarket chains in Brazil.
The new product uses Green Plastic, a material that is 100% recyclable and produced from sugarcane by Braskem, the largest producer of thermoplastic resins in the Americas. Consumers can identify the Embalixo waste bags from the "I'm greenT" seal, visible on the front and back of the product. The brand name is Braskem's identification for products that use sugarcane-based plastic.
Since 2011, Embalixo has adopted the Green Plastic in its products. "This product is revolutionary in the waste bag market in the country. Because Embalixo always seeks the well-being of its consumers, we have been able to unify the best in the world market, that is, a product from a renewable source, with odor neutralization, lavender fragrance, and an unprecedented flap system for closing. In addition to neutralizing the bad odor of diapers, the innovation makes the environment much more pleasant," explained Rafael Costa, Commercial Director of Embalixo.
About the Green Plastic
The "I'm GreenT" Green Polyethylene is made from ethylene obtained from sugarcane ethanol. Its key differentiator is its contribution to the reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, as it captures carbon dioxide during its production process. It also has the same characteristics of traditional polyethylene, that is, it does not require machinery adaptations and is 100% recyclable. Braskem's Green Plastic plant has a production capacity of 200,000 metric tons per year.
