Fernando Musa appointed President of Braskem

Braskem, the leader in the production of plastic resins in the Americas, within its business succession plan, announces the appointment of Fernando Musa as the new President, replacing Carlos Fadigas. The change occurs after the completion of a key step in Braskem's internationalization with the entry into operation of the Mexico Petrochemical Complex, which had an investment of about $5 billion.

Carlos Fadigas will remain with activities in the Odebrecht Group, in particular in support of Braskem's new internationalization cycle. During Mr. Fadigas' leadership over the past five years, Braskem began its industrial operations in Europe, achieved the leading position in the North American polypropylene market, and completed the largest investment in its history in Mexico. The Company has consolidated its position as the sixth largest producer of plastic resins in the world, reaching the mark of R$ 9.4 billion in EBITDA in 2015.

Fernando Musa is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), with an MBA from INSEAD, in France. He worked in a number of companies, such as McKinsey, Editora Abril, and Monitor Group.

Mr. Musa joined Braskem in 2010 as Vice President of the Strategic Planning area. Since March 2012, he occupied the Presidency of Braskem America, the unit responsible for Braskem's business in the United States and Europe. During his tenure, Braskem integrated the acquired assets of Sunoco and Dow and initiated important strategic projects to strengthen the Company's presence in the United States. Mr. Musa's international experience in recent years has been crucial in his appointment as the new leader of Braskem in the next growth cycle.

"One of my priorities will be to deepen the successful growth and internationalization strategy, enhancing competitiveness in all our operations and seeking new investment opportunities in Brazil and abroad," said Fernando Musa.

The appointment of Fernando Musa will be submitted to the Board of Directors of Braskem.
