An innovative idea to solving a problem of society can be the starting point for starting a business. Nevertheless, those who wish to become an entrepreneur sometimes find it difficult to get their project off the ground. To help in this initial stage, mentors and participants of Braskem Labs share their experiences and give important tips on how to avoid mistakes in this endeavor.

  1. Roll up your sleeves Having an idea is not enough - it needs to be feasible. Therefore, in the world of entrepreneurship, the saying goes that starting a business requires "1% inspiration and 99% perspiration." This is because it takes hard work to transform an idea into a business.
  2. Put everything on paper Want to turn your idea into a project? This is the time to make a draft and analyze gaps and the potential for improvement is. Be objective and fast. The stage is important but should not take too long.
  3. Share your idea To understand if your project is feasible, it is important to share and present your business proposal to others, in particular those who have some experience in the subject or area of interest and can make inquiries and enrich the idea. This step is important to test the feasibility of the project and decide whether to go ahead.
  4. Get to know the market To succeed, it is important to understand what the market demands through a multidimensional analysis, including technical specifications, applications, product requirements, marketing, sales, production, cost, market understanding and value proposition.
  5. Be persistent Persistence is an essential quality for every entrepreneur. Startup development programs are critical to optimize designs, but dedication is essential to make the dream possible.
  6. Define your focus Once they have a well-developed project, the entrepreneur should also set the focus of the business, that is, what they their "profit" to be in the future. If you wish to a business owner, should you sell the idea to a partner or benefit a community?
  7. Think sustainably Private companies that take sustainable goal as a pillar to solve a problem have been the most prosperous one. This is because investors have also preferred to apply resources in initiatives that make a difference in the world.
  8. Learn to sell your idea The entrepreneur should know how to present their idea to any audience, adapting their language to each of them and transmitting their messages always as clearly as possible.
  9. Be optimist "Dreaming big and dreaming small require the same amount of work." Follow the advice of Jorge Paulo Lemann and dream big.
