Can plastics really be net zero?

Bio-based plastics are an essential solution to help us reach a net zero circular economy. But not a lot of people know enough about them. So, each week we'll be tackling the complex questions that come with the topic. Stay tuned as we dispel the myths of bio-based plastics!

Can plastics really be net zero? Yes, absolutely.

We don't talk about decarbonizing the plastics sector, instead we talk about getting plastics to net zero. Why? Well, plastics are made out of carbon, so even though we can't change the building block of the material, but we can replace the fossil carbon source we use for something better. At Braskem, we're using plant-based carbon to produce carbon-capturing plastics that will help us reach net zero.
