Braskem and Tramontina launch chairs made from post-consumer resin

Through the Summa Line, Tramontina offers a more modern design with the same durability, weight and resistance of chairs made from fossil-based plastic.

The well-established partnership between Braskem and Tramontina increasingly seeks to combine sophisticated design with eco-friendly practices. This is the case of Sissi and Diana  chairs from the Summa line, which reach the market today. These are produced from post-consumer (PCR) resin, that is, recycled material. Initially at the time of launch, the chairs will be sold only at T factory and T stores , Tramontina's concept stores, and subsequently will be available at general sales outlets.

"Increasingly more committed to the Circular Economy , Braskem has been expanding its recycled resins portfolio, thereby enabling brands such as Tramontina to develop eco-friendly products," explains Renato Ditomaso, director of Recycling Business Development and Circular Economy at Braskem.

Through the Summa Line, Tramontina offers a more modern design with the same durability, weight and resistance of chairs made from fossil-based plastic. This fact is attested to by three laboratory tests (static, impact and back leg), in accordance with Inmetro decree no. 342/2014, which check the resistance of all models in order to guarantee product safety.

A long-time partner of Braskem, Tramontina already uses other sustainable solutions from the company in its product portfolio . "Our focus is on sustainability, which has been part of Tramontina's history for 108 years. Consumers who buy this product can rest assured of something good not only for their homes, but also for the environment as a whole," said Rui Baldasso, Commercial Director of Tramontina.
