Braskem offers a broad portfolio of raw materials for the paint sector, with highlights including solvents such as Toluene, Xylene, Pluract® 9, Pluract® 10+, Mineral Spirits, Cyclohexane, as well as the aliphatic lines Ezolem® and Sensitis®, which feature highly pure, low-odor hydrogenated solvents. At the event, Braskem will also showcase hydrocarbon resins such as Unilene and I'm greenT bio-based PE WAX, along with other basic chemicals used as raw materials in the paint production chain, including Orthoxylene, Ethylene, Propylene, and Benzene.

"Hydrocarbon resins are compatible with a variety of solvents and polymers. Their main feature is enhancing the gloss and drying properties of paints. Braskem is the only producer of this type of resin in Latin America and exports over five thousand tons annually to more than 20 countries," Bellini emphasizes.

Another goal for the company at the event is to promote sustainable development within the production chain. Therefore, renewable versions of products in the portfolio will be prominently featured. Visitors will be able to learn more about the available options and understand the mass balance bio-attribution concept. This approach helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enables the industry to gradually transition to sustainable materials.

"In this model, a renewable raw material, such as bio-naphtha, is processed together with fossil raw material, and we can attribute this renewable content to a Braskem product. All of this is certified from the raw material to the final product,"
explains Bellini. "And the carbon footprint of bio-attributed products is lower than that of fossil-based materials, since the biological raw material captures CO² from the environment," he concludes.

In addition to significantly reducing the carbon footprint, a major advantage of the bio-attributed solution is that no adaptation is needed in customers' formulations, as it is the same molecule.
