Braskem launched the first edition of the Braskem Logistics Suppliers Award, which, between June 01, 2020, and May 31, 2021, assessed partners providing transportation services to the Logistics GTR [Gestão de Transporte Rodoviário (Road Transportation Management)] and GAE [Gestão de Atendimento às Entregas (Delivery Service Management)] areas in four categories: L&G (liquid and gases) Road Transportation, Packed Resins Road Transportation, Bulk Resins Road Transportation and Cabotage Resins. 

In order to recognize the 17 best-performing suppliers over the period in the defined categories, the company had a jury consisting of team members from the company's Logistics area, analyzing various criteria, such as: being among the ten largest suppliers by transported volume; having a Supplier Performance Index (Índice de Desempenho de Fornecedores, IDF) above 80%; having 80% of Braskem freight delivered without any delay; not being blocked for new hirings (administrative sanctions and other types of blockage); and not having any fatal accidents in the last two years.

Intended to raise the level of services rendered, the Braskem Logistics Suppliers Award aims at encouraging engagement for the pursuit of excellence and strengthening the spirit of collaboration and partnership, in line with the company's standards and expectations, considering the pillars that make up the IDF, such as Management, Productivity, Quality, and HSE - Health, Safety and Environment. "The first edition of the Braskem Logistics Suppliers Award was a special occasion for us, as it is recognizing the work carried out by many people, always striving for greater quality, efficiency and safety in our operations, which is even more important in the current times, with so many challenges that we face daily. Our goal is to achieve even better service to our clients and, to that end, we need dedicated partners who have goals and focus like our clients", adds Silvia Migueles, Logistics Director at Braskem.

"Rewarding suppliers is a way of recognizing excellence, good practices and best results, not only economic and financial ones, but most importantly: by satisfying our clients and reducing the number of accidents", says Edison Terra, Polyolefins Unit Vice-President South America.

The 1st-placed supplier was awarded a trophy, standing out as the year's best. Suppliers with 2nd and 3rd-place awards received a recognition plaque. The ceremony was held in a 100% digital environment due to the covid-19 pandemic, with suppliers, Braskem leaders and guests taking part, such as Luiz Shizuo, Business Management manager at Abiquim, and Eva Dengler, Programs and Corporate Relations manager at Childhood Brasil. Supplier award nominees received a locked box and only found out their placement on the day of the event, when the lock's password was revealed.

"Suppliers were recognized for their excellence and level of service rendered during the evaluation period. In addition to developing the supply chain through performance assessment, we view the recognition as a way of continuously evolving processes, achieving high levels of excellence", concludes Silvia. 

The event was organized by team members of the Braskem Logistics area, with support from the Ângulo agency. The company plans for a new edition in 2022, including new award categories.
