Braskem donates equipment to Civil Defense in Maceió

Maceió, June 6, 2019 - The Civil Defense Monitoring Center of Maceió, in the district of Pinheiro, received new equipment this Thursday, June 6. The 40 radios, complete network infrastructure and devices for videoconference were donated and are already being installed by Braskem. All the materials are expected to be working by next 19th.

To this end, Braskem will prepare the central network infrastructure and the Civil Defense will monitor the high-precision GPS and meteorological station data, as well as the information from their own systems. Braskem will also donate two network servers.

On June 26, other equipment should arrive at Maceió, such as videowall (set of monitors  integrated and connected to a computer, working as parts of a single large screen), computers, VoIP phones, tablets, video projectors and TV sets that will be used in the videoconference system.

Technical cooperation

The donation and installation of equipment for the Monitoring Center of the Civil Defense are prevention actions suggested by Braskem and provided for in the Technical Cooperation Agreement signed among the company and the Federal, State and Labor Public Prosecutor's Offices (MPF, MPE and MPT), the Municipality of Maceió and the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy (Crea-AL).

The works were initiated on April 11 and since then, the company has already concluded the inspection services of the drainage system of  Pinheiro with high-technology semi-robotic cameras; high-precision GPS monitoring to measure possible ground movements; donation of signs for escape routes; and installation of a meteorological station.

Currently, companies indicated by Crea-AL and hired by Braskem are working in engineering inspection services in buildings of residential complexes and schools of Pinheiro, besides working in pavement recovery services in streets  damaged by cracks.

The cooperation agreement also provides for the donation of project and materials for installation of a temporary surface drainage system in order to reduce the impacts caused by rain.
