Press note addresses decision of the 3rd Civil Chamber of the Court of Justice of Alagoas

Maceió, July 25, 2019 - On Thursday morning (7/25), Braskem followed the trial at the 3rd Civil Chamber of the Court of Justice of Alagoas (TJAL), which maintained the blocking of R$ 100 million in the company's accounts. Braskem will await the publication of the court decision and evaluate the appropriate measures.

The company understands and respects the feelings of the residents and it is already acting in the region taking emergency actions to avoid the worsening of the situation, as proposed in the Technical Cooperation Agreement signed with public authorities in April this year.

The implementation of the initiatives suggested in the cooperation agreement was not affected in any way by the company's legal situation. Braskem maintains its services and advances to conclude the implementation of the set of measures agreed.

It is important to reiterate that Braskem is a financially solid company that fulfills its obligations and therefore there is no reason to block the resources.

Braskem reaffirms its commitment with the society of Alagoas and with a responsible business conduct. The company keeps contributing to the full understanding of the geological problems occurred in the districts of Pinheiro, Mutange and Bebedouro, in order to allow the implementation of solutions to the community.
