Cooperation Agreement: three months of actions in the district of Pinheiro

Maceió, July 11, 2019 - While performing sonar studies that will contribute to the definition of the causes of the problems in the district of Pinheiro and region, Braskem goes on investing in initiatives to reduce the risks to the residents, mainly in the rainy period. Since the beginning of April, the petrochemical company has been performing mitigation actions proposed in the Technical Cooperation Agreement signed with the Municipality of Maceió, the Federal and State Public Prosecutor's Offices, the Labor Public Prosecutor's Office and the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy (Crea-AL).

Braskem has advances in most of the proposals of the Cooperation Agreement: inspection of the main network of the rainwater drainage system of Pinheiro with high-technology semi-robotic cameras; installation of a meteorological station; building inspection in four schools and two housing complexes located in critical areas; and equipment donation and installation for the Civil Defense Monitoring Center, that is ready to operate.

The petrochemical company continues to work in the pavement recovery of streets damaged by cracks in Pinheiro and in the replacement of the rainwater drainage network in these places. The sections in the public roads and the solutions for each area were defined with the Municipality of Maceió with the objective of ensuring safety and trafficability, in addition to the reduction of water infiltration risks in the ground through the fissures.

The district of Pinheiro also now has ground movement monitoring made with high-precision GPS. Technicians from the Municipal Civil Defense are being trained to use the equipment.
