In note, Braskem states that it is available for the ALE Special Commission

Maceió, August 13, 2019 - Braskem restates that it has provided all the clarifications to the authorities. The company is at the disposal of the Special Commission of the Legislative Assembly to provide all the information related to the case. The company understands that the report is not definitive and goes on performing studies and technical and scientific activities to understand the geological phenomena in the districts of Pinheiro, Mutange and Bebedouro.

Due to the complexity of the subject, the company hired Brazilian and international experts to conduct studies and assessments to look for the best solution to ensure the safety of the persons. Additionally, the company is committed to conclude the sonars in all the mines, an analysis that is considered critical by the experts to understand the causes of the phenomena.

In cooperation with the local authorities, Braskem is implementing emergency actions in the region, as for example the donation and installation of equipment for the Monitoring Center of the Civil Defense and the meteorological station, recovery of streets damaged by cracks and monitoring of ground movements through high-precision GPS, among other measures.

Braskem reiterates to the society of Alagoas its commitment with a responsible business conduct, as the company has been doing for more than four decades.
