Innovation & Renewable Chemistry

Hello! I'm part of solutions in chemistry and plastics that build a circular future.
I was given the name I'm greenTM because I have a better impact on the environment and society.

The I'm greenTM product line combines innovation and sustainability. Braskem has been investing in research and development to optimize the use of natural resources and post-consumer waste.

Renewable resources

Braskem is a pioneer in the production of thermoplastic resins made from renewable sources. Its Renewable Chemicals Research Center is currently considered the birthplace of the company's most significant discoveries. It was inaugurated in 2014 in Campinas, an important region in the interior of São Paulo state for Brazilian companies that work with clean and renewable energy.

At its core, specialists in biotechnology and chemical engineering conduct research into renewable solutions on an industrial scale. Using cutting-edge biotechnology equipment, the scientists conduct research into new technological routes to production of renewable chemicals and polymers to ensure the company's global leadership in this field.

Recycled content

A new way of thinking about production and consumption: this is at the heart of Braskem's commitment to promoting the Circular Economy and the foundation of the I'm greenTM recycled portfolio. The products and solutions based on plastic waste are developed through partnerships with clients, recyclers, cooperatives, and brand owners. Many tests of post-consumer resins (PCR) and products in partnership with clients are conducted at the Innovation & Technology Center in Triunfo, Rio Grande do Sul, which is regarded as one of the leading centers for polymers research in Latin America.

Transformation into a
Circular Economy

The industry plays a key role in offering sustainable solutions and production processes that improve environmental impacts. Change involves collaboration, innovation, and engagement by consumers to rethink, reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Braskem's positioning in the circular economy promotes the development of businesses that create value for the recycling chain, as well as less disruptive solutions for the use of natural resources.
