Braskem and Katoen Natie Partner on a Logistics Project in Singapore

The project consolidates Braskem's presence in Southeast Asia to streamline its logistics and supply chain processes.

SINGAPORE - November 27, 2025  - Braskem (B3: BRKM3, BRKM5, and BRKM6; NYSE: BAK; LATIBEX: XBRK) the largest polyolefins producer in the Americas, as well as a global market leader and pioneer producer of biopolymers on an industrial scale, and Katoen Natie today announced their partnership around a warehouse project located in Singapore. Katoen Natie, a global logistics and engineering company headquartered in Belgium, provides integrated logistics services ranging from warehousing and storage to port operations. They also provide specialized services for sectors such as petrochemicals and specialty chemicals.

Braskem expanded its presence to Southeast Asia in 2011 in Singapore and started its polymer sales operation there in 2018 to cover demand in the Indo-pacific region. Since then, the organization has expanded to include a logistics hub and, in 2023, a Representative Office in Tokyo, Japan-following over 15 years of providing sustainable solutions to the Japanese market. In the same year, Braskem and SCG Chemicals formed the joint venture BraskemSiam, aiming to produce bio-ethylene from bio-ethanol dehydration in a specialized plant in Thailand and to commercialize I'm greenTM bio-based polyethylene (PE). The project is currently in the final stages in the lead-up to the final investment decision (FID).

The partnership concerncing logistics processes further solidifies Braskem's presence in Southeast Asia targeting I'm greenTM bio-based PE and EVA, shortening transport routes to customers in the region. In its operations, Katoen Natie pursues the goals of optimizing logistics performance, lead times, and inventory levels to improve supply chain performance.

"Expanding our footprint in Asia will reinforce existing partnerships and enable us to cultivate deeper connections within the regional market. This partnership will contribute greatly to the optimization of our supply chain to support the manufacturing of bio-based products to customers worldwide", says Roger Marchioni, Asia Olefins & Polyolefins Director and Global I'm greenTM bio-based Commercial Director.

Katoen Natie operates in over 36 countries across five continents and has experience both in sustainably handling petrochemicals and working in the logistics hub Singapore. Braskem supplies both conventional and sustainable products to customers across Asia, including its I'm greenTM bio-based portfolio. These sustainable solutions offer alternatives to traditional plastic materials and are suitable for a wide range of applications. Made from renewable feedstock, they help reduce carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions. I'm greenTM bio-based, derived from sugarcane, is recyclable using standard processes, without the need for alternative methods.
