Maceió, August 8, 2024 - The Flexal Entrepreneurs' Fair will hold its second edition this Saturday (10), from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tobias Barreto Street. The event will once again bring together local merchants and service providers in a space dedicated to entrepreneurship and leisure.
The fair is being organized by a committee of local entrepreneurs composed of community residents. The Urban Integration and Flexais Development Project aims to support community engagement by providing booths and structures for exhibitions, as well as spaces for children's entertainment and cultural attractions.
The entrepreneurs joining this new edition will showcase a variety of products and services, including crafts, jewelry, household items, clothing, bags, perfumes, cosmetics, and plants. Visitors will also have the chance to savor a variety of delicious treats such as cakes, snacks, party sweets, cookies, and fruit juices.
The Flexal Entrepreneurs Fair is a perfect outing for the whole family, featuring local artist performances and activities tailored specifically for children. In the outdoor area, kids can enjoy a trampoline, ball pit, and inflatable toys, along with tasty popcorn and cotton candy from the carts.
Health and beauty
The fair will feature a series of free services to visitors. Those interested can seek out hairdressing, manicurist, barber and eyebrow design services. The services are free of charge, with limited hours.
The event will also provide health and wellness-related services free of charge. The Municipal Health Department will be on hand to measure blood pressure and glucose levels, administer vaccines, and conduct rapid HIV tests, among other services. Visitors will also have access to nutrition and physiotherapy specialists.
Representatives from the Municipal Department for Women, People with Disabilities, the Elderly, and Citizenship (SEMUC); the Municipal Department of Education (SEMED); the Sustainable Development and Urban Cleaning Authority (ALURB); and the Health Surveillance Agency will be present at the Fair to welcome attendees and give lectures. Planned activities include a workshop on sustainable soap production by ALURB, a theater presentation on oral health care by SMS, educational games for children organized by SEMED, and a Zuma class by SEMESP, among others.
Initiatives at Flexais
In addition to the initiatives aimed at stimulating local economic development at Flexais, road requalification works are underway, as well as the construction of a basic health unit (UBS) and a daycare center. Alongside ongoing initiatives, other measures include urban cleaning, pest control, surveillance, a dedicated and free bus route for Flexais residents, school transportation, and psychological support services. The installation of security cameras, upgrading of public lighting with new lamps, and modernization of the network have also been completed. The Flexal Space, which accommodates municipal departments providing direct services to the community, has been structured as part of the project.
Commitments to Maceió
The Flexais Project initiatives are among the measures implemented in Maceió, which are part of Braskem's 10 commitments towards the city and its residents. Many are in an advanced stage of implementation or have already been completed. These commitments span across social, urban, and environmental fronts, forming part of the five principal agreements signed between Braskem and authorities in recent years. Most of these agreements were established following consultations with public authorities, society, and affected communities. The Flexal Entrepreneurs' Fair is part of commitment number 5, reaffirmed by Braskem with Maceió: "Professional Training and Support in Generating Income for Impacted Residents."
Braskem created the Compromissos com Maceió [Commitments to Maceió] platform to ensure transparency and enable the community to track all these initiatives and programs. Learn more about our commitments at https://www.braskem.com/compromissosmaceio, where the content is constantly updated.
