Historical Heritage
Specialized teams hired by Braskem are currently undertaking actions to preserve the memory and structural integrity of properties with historical and cultural significance in the vacated areas.
To safeguard the stories embedded in these properties, a selection of buildings has been meticulously documented using cutting-edge techniques. Both facades and interiors have undergone laser scanning.
Records also encompass documents detailing their conservation status and historical background sourced from collections and photographs.

- Engineers conduct monthly monitoring of properties with historical and cultural value.
- High precision 2D and 3D cameras are being used to create digital replicas of these properties.
- Inventories of all properties are being compiled to safeguard their memory.
- 21 properties have undergone structural preservation and shoring works.
- Cleaning and pest control programs were implemented to aid in their conservation efforts.

Preservation of structures
When needed, preservation works are conducted on the structures of these historical and cultural properties. Specialized professionals hired by Braskem are in charge of this work, ensuring that they respect the architectural characteristics of the era in which the properties were constructed. The Municipality monitors the actions.
Before starting any work, experts thoroughly analyze the materials used in construction and describe the property and its structure. Maintenance actions include facade repairs, frame restoration, and other necessary measures.
Routine cleaning, pest control, and surveillance actions are also being carried out to ensure the properties' ongoing preservation.
* The preservation of memory and heritage is a key component of the Socio-urbanistic Front, as outlined in the Socio-Environmental Agreement signed in December 2020 between Braskem and the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), with the participation of the State Public Ministry (MPE) and the Municipality of Maceió.
