Mobility
The Socio-Environmental Agreement includes the implementation of projects aimed at improving urban mobility in Maceió.
These projects cover over 33 kilometers of streets and avenues that are being recovered or constructed, traffic monitoring, and enhanced accessibility.
This comprehensive plan also involves the renovation of public sidewalks, parking spaces, and stormwater drainage systems.
The initiatives, which are being overseen by public authorities, will enhance traffic flow and safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Budget:
BRL 360 million
Funded by Braskem and updated annually.
The works are planned by the Municipality and executed by specialized companies contracted by Braskem.

Expansion and construction of roads
Avenida Durval de Góes Monteiro
• Construction of two 6 km lanes in each direction, in addition to accessible cycle paths and sidewalks.
• New lighting and electrical networks will take up less space with provide less visual pollution, in addition to reducing transmission losses and lowering maintenance costs. New poles, LED lamps, transformers and cables are being installed.
Expansion and construction of roads
Avenida Menino Marcelo
• Construction of a 1.8 km cycle path and accessible sidewalks.
• Expansion with a 1.5 km lane towards the city center, between the future connection with Avenida Durval de Góes Monteiro and Rua Governador Francisco Melo.
Monitoring
High-performance cameras to assist with traffic control and surveillance in 70 locations across the city.

• 2.4 km connection with two lanes in each direction.
• Construction of a 2.4 km cycle path and accessible sidewalks.
Road recovery
Installation of new signage, paving restoration, drainage improvements and reorganization of flow on the following roads:
Chã de Jaqueira
Ladeira Santa Amélia
Chã de Bebedouro
Rua Marques de Abrantes
- section between Avenida Cônego Costa and the Calmon slope
Smart traffic light system
These improvements include the installation of 30 new traffic light sets on Avenida Fernandes Lima and Avenida Durval de Góes Monteiro, between the BR-116 highway viaduct and Praça do Centenário. Two other units at the intersection of Rua General Hermes and Avenida Afrânio Lages complete the new system.
Aimed at enhancing traffic flow, traffic lights are synchronized with cameras capable of autonomously adjusting their operation using Artificial Intelligence, based on real-time vehicle volume data on each road.
