Poço Neighborhood to Host Pet Adoption Fair This Saturday

Adopters will take home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed dogs and cats, with free veterinary care for the first three months after adoption

Maceió, August 28, 2026 - This Saturday (29), the Focinho Responsável initiative is holding another pet adoption fair in Maceió. The event will take place at Parque Linear, located on Avenida Deputado Humberto Mendes in the Poço neighborhood, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The initiative aims to encourage responsible pet ownership and connect the community with dogs and cats in need of a home.

All pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed, and receive veterinary care prior to adoption. The program also provides free transportation of the animal to the new owner's home and clinical support during the first three months after adoption to assist with the adjustment period.

Prospective adopters can also opt for an adjustment period of up to three days, allowing the family and the pet to get to know each other before making a final decision. If the adoption is not finalized, the animal safely returns to the program.

Profiles of available dogs and cats are posted on an ongoing basis, with information about each pet and guidance on the responsible adoption process
