Pre-Selected Applicants for "Cultura em Movimento" Call to Be Announced Thursday

Applicants will have five days from the publication date to submit appeals.

Maceió, February 18, 2026 - The list of applicants for the "Cultura em Movimento" Call, along with their respective eligibility classifications, will be published this Thursday (19) on the official website at www.editalculturaemmovimento.com.br. After results are announced, applicants will have five days - from February 19 to 23 - to submit appeals, as provided for in the call. During this period, proponents may file objections, submit additional documentation, and request information to make adjustments via email at contato@editalculturaemmovimento.com.br .

The Cultura em Movimento call supports projects rooted in Popular and Afro-Brazilian cultural traditions, including Guerreiro, Pastoril, Bumba Meu Boi, Maracatu, Capoeira, and Afoxé. Funding will be allocated to 104 projects, with amounts ranging from BRL 15,250.00 to BRL 30,800.00, depending on the submission category.

Each participant may apply in up to two categories, but will receive funding for only one. Evaluation criteria include the group's cultural track record and years of activity, accessibility measures included in the proposal, efforts to broaden public access to culture, and alignment with traditions recognized as intangible cultural heritage.

This initiative is part of the cultural preservation and memory component of the Socio-Urban Action Plan (PAS) and aims to support and promote Maceió's artistic and traditional expressions.

PAS stems from studies established under the Socio-Environmental Agreement, signed by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) and Braskem, with participation from the State Public Prosecutor's Office (MPE) and the Municipality of Maceió. It includes more than 40 initiatives, ranging from the construction or renovation of daycare centers, markets, public squares, and health units, to broader actions in the cultural, social, economic, and urban development fields. Some of the actions are executed by the company; others by Maceió's local government. The budget is BRL 198 million - adjusted annually.
