Renovation of Ladeira do Trovão Square progresses in Bom Parto
Braskem initiative will bring to the community space a new structure with benches, tables and a restored altar honoring the neighborhood's patron saint
Maceió, May 7, 2026 - Braskem is moving ahead with the renovation of the square at Ladeira José Cardoso da Silva, known locally as Ladeira do Trovão, in the Bom Parto neighborhood. The project will improve pedestrian circulation and revitalize shared community spaces. Completion is expected in the first half of this year.
The project includes upgrades to the entire area, with the installation of new benches and tables, restoration of the altar dedicated to Our Lady of Bom Parto - the neighborhood's patron saint - and new landscaping. Sidewalks will be equipped with tactile paving and access ramps to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.
The renovation is part of the project to build the new Bom Parto community area, a 5,500-square-meter space that will feature a soccer field, walking and running track, outdoor fitness equipment, playground, tables and benches, and a multipurpose pavilion for events.
The new community area is located in a part of the neighborhood already familiar to residents and was designed through a participatory process based on conversations with the community.
The projects in Bom Parto are part of the Socio-Urban Action Plan (PAS), established under the Socio-Environmental Agreement signed by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) and Braskem, with the participation of the State Public Prosecutor's Office (MPE) and the City of Maceió.
Learn more about PAS projects
Several PAS projects have already been completed or are currently underway in different neighborhoods across Maceió. In Bebedouro, a historic 775-square-meter building was fully renovated and equipped before being delivered to the City to house the neighborhood's Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS). In Ponta Grossa, construction continues on a new Municipal Early Childhood Education Center (CMEI).
In Cidade Universitária, a new Municipal Early Childhood Education Center (CMEI), with capacity to serve up to 600 children aged 0 to 5 years and 11 months, and a Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs (CAPS AD III), structured to assist up to 45 patients per day, have been delivered to the City. The neighborhood will also receive additional initiatives, including the construction of a new Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS).
PAS includes initiatives ranging from the construction or renovation of daycare centers, markets, public squares, and health units, to broader actions in the cultural, social, economic, and urban development fields. Some of the actions are executed by Braskem; others by Maceió's local government. The plan's budget, funded by the Company and updated annually, totals R$ 198 million. The plan is structured around four areas of focus: social policies and vulnerability reduction; economic activity, jobs and income generation; urban and environmental improvements; and preservation of culture and memory.
