Braskem Labs presents selected companies
The process of choosing participants took into account aspects such as innovation, market potential, the profile of the entrepreneur and the team involved, business model, and the social and environmental impact.
Ten companies were selected from among 180 applicants for the third edition of Braskem Labs, the program for entrepreneurship acceleration promoted by Braskem, the largest petrochemical company in the Americas. The process of choosing participants took into account aspects such as innovation, market potential, the profile of the entrepreneur and the team involved, business model, and the social and environmental impact.
The proposals originate from four Brazilian states and use plastics and chemistry in the development of new social and environmental solutions or present ways to combat the Aedes aegypti mosquito. "We are very excited about this edition of the program, because again we find projects with great potential to positively transform people's lives and the way business is thought," said Luiz Gustavo Ortega, Head of Sustainable Development at Braskem.
Entrepreneurs currently participate in a diagnostic event to understand the specific challenges of each company. After this stage, a series of events and mentoring sessions will be held over a period of four months, with the aim of supporting these companies in the aspects they most need, with the support of mentors from Braskem and ACE, considered the Best Startup Accelerator in America Latina by Latam Founders.
At the end of the program, the selected ones will be able to present their companies, during the Demo Day, to a group of entrepreneurs, investors, investment banks, and other market players.

Pernambuco
| Company | Description |
| Recicletool | A reverse logistics device that uses optical reading technology to identify the waste that is deposited in the machine. With the user's registration, the packaging deposited in Recicletool return to it in the form of financial credit, removing waste from the environment, contributing to the education of the population, and providing a benefit for returning the packaging. |
Rio Grande do Norte
| Company | Description |
| Fix It | Immobilizers in thermoformable and biodegradable plastic, designed for specific limbs of the body and in predefined sizes, made in 3D printing. The suitability to the patient's anatomy is ensured by immersion in hot water. |

| Company | Description |
| Vasos Raiz | The Raiz self-watering plant pot has a system that facilitates plant care and allows users to keep their spices and fresh teas in their residence. With an internal irrigation system, consisting of strands that function as a sort of artificial root, the water container is coupled to the underside of the pot, giving moisture to the earth for several days, without the need to water and not allowing the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. |

| Company | Description |
| Biomassa do Brasil | Sustainable products in the mortars and special paints line. The Pre-Blended Polymeric Mortar reduces the masonry costs by 40% and water consumption by 95%. |
| Nanomix | Nanotechnology that provides PVC with physical and chemical properties, as a barrier against moisture. It can replace PVDC which a high-cost, imported, non-recyclable material and reduce the cost of medicine packaging by 30%. |
| BR Goods | Hospital Bed Curtains and Shower Enclosures that use flame retardant nanotechnology. They are antimicrobial, manufactured with Green Plastic, and can be fixed or disposable. This material allows the cleaning process to be done without removing the curtains from the room, ensuring the patients' privacy and saving water in hygiene, as well as having high sustainable attributes. |
| Okena | It collects, transports, stores, treats and allocates effluents contaminated with oils, metals, paints, solvents and other substances, preventing them from reaching the environment and polluting soils and fresh water. |
| Altave | It develops aeronautical platforms for video surveillance and telecommunication through balloons, bringing connectivity to remote locations and allowing the monitoring of large areas. |
| Muzzicycles | A bicycle frame injected into a single piece with a recycled plastic mix. The frame has a lifetime warranty, high durability, does not rust, and helps remove waste from the environment during production. |
| Denguetech | A biological insecticide against the vectors of dengue, zika, and chikungunya. It is made from the bacterium BTI (Bacillus thuringiensis var. Israelensis) and can be used in public areas, as well as in homes and work environments. As soon as the DengueTech tablet is placed in the water, it dissolves, releasing microorganisms and proteins that parasitize and kill the larvae of the mosquito vectors within 24 hours. Its effect continues for at least 60 days. |
